”Can never thank the team at One Paw enough for our lovely Betty. We looked at so many rescues but loved the way one paw operated. Especially that the doggies are often fostered first so you get a brilliant assessment from the foster family and we were able to visit Betty and see her in her home environment. We went a few times walking her etc. The whole process from first seeing her on the website to having her home was excellent. The great thing too is the ongoing support too. You really feel part of a family! We can never thank the whole team enough for our Romanian rescue.
Penny Rust - Adopted Betty in 2017
”I adopted my beautiful girl in July as an 8 month old puppy after seeing her rescued at 1 month by the owners of this rescue. We have had our lives changed by having her in our lives, she's the most gentle and loving baby that we could have imagined having and the whole process of getting her here was so well organised. So glad I didn't buy from a breeder.. these dogs are just amazing.
Rachael Homewood - Adopted Dora in 2017
”We adopted our beautiful girl a month ago. Gem (Jamima) has completed our family. She’s the most gorgeous girl given a chance by the incredible work of the guys at One Paw. She came over from Romania straight into a loving foster home who gave her the best start. The adoption process was easy but thorough, Gem’s welfare being their highest priority. Keep up your incredible work, you really are an amazing team to whom I’ll always be grateful for our beautiful, loving girl"
Julie Lacey - Adopted Jamima, now Gem in 2017
All dogs available for adoption will have been assessed by the One Paw Team to establish the kind of home they would be most suited to, depending on their temperament and needs.
Once you have seen the dog you would like to adopt, fill out the interest form.
We will then process your application and if we feel you are a suitable match, we will get in touch to discuss your application further.
A meet with the dog will then be arranged. This will usually take place at the foster home, or on neutral groud such as a park close to the foster home.
a Reservation Fee would then be paid to reserve the dog pending a Home Check.
The One Paw Team will arrange for someone to visit the applicant's house to complete a Home Check to ensure the property provides a suitable and safe environment for the dog.
The garden will be checked thoroughly to ensure there is no possible means of escape. If any areas are identified as a risk, the applicant will be given a reasonable amount of time to make the garden fully secure.
Once the adoption has been confirmed, the Adoption Contract will need to be completed and signed by the applicant.
The adoption fee will need to be made by Bank Transfer.
The deposit previously paid will be deducted from the final amount of adoption fee
The adoption fee will need to be paid in full before the dog can be collected.
The adoption fee is used towards the cost of travel, vets fees, and other costs accrued whilst in foster; these costs are usually more than the adoption donation.
All our One Paws are vaccinated, microchipped, fully treated for fleas and worms.
Adults will be neutered whilst puppies will be done as soon as possible, following vetinary advice.
One Paw Adoption Fees:
UK and Romanian Dogs: £350
£400 for puppies under 6 months old
Dogs from China: £1,500
Due to the high costs involved in rescuing dogs from the China Meat Trade the adoption fee has increased to £1,500
This amount will be used for the cost of flights, paperwork and blood tests together with transport from the Airport in Paris to the UK.
