Applications For Dogs In China Now Being Taken

Please note that due to the cost of veterinary fees, boarding fees (which have had to be extended due to the Corona Virus), Papers and blood tests in preparation for travel, cost of flights and then travel to the UK from Paris, our Adoption Donation has increased for China Dogs to £1,300.

This amount is a contribution to the total cost involved in Rescuing a dog from the China Meat Trade, which amounts to around £2,000 per dog.

Katia

I am a small size (approx 5kg) female mixed breed from Romania and I am 5 years old.
I am still very nervous, and it takes me a little while to relax and get to know you.
I would need a home that could offer me lots of time and patience, with someone who is around most of the time and who will help me to develop my confidence both inside and outside of the house.
I don't mind having my harness on, but I don't yet feel confident to walk far, and would need encouragement to learn to enjoy the outdoors in quiet areas to start with before going to busy areas or wide open spaces.
I do love people, and will happily wag my tail and come for a fuss when I trust you, and enjoy my back and ears being scratched.
I am scared of other dogs around me, especially lively bouncy ones,
I could live as an only dog, but would need socialisation with other dogs at a slow pace until I feel safe around them. I could live with another calm older dog, that would respect my space.
I love my food and do a little dance when my dinner is ready
I don't play with toys yet, but I could try and learn
I travel OK in the car, but can cry at first until I settle
I don't like a crate, but will settle in a dog bed to sleep
I am currently in a foster home in Nottingham
I am vaccinated microchipped neutered

William

I am a large size mixed breed male from Romania and I am 4 years old.
I am very nervous when first meeting people, especially men, but given lots of time and patience I will learn to trust you.
I am looking for a calm and quiet home with a confident owner who understands that I need to be given space and who will not put me in situations I cannot cope with.
I need to live in a home with no children and as an only dog.
I have met cats but I want to chase them so I cannot be homed with small furries.
I am fully house trained and muzzle trained as I am fear reactive.
I walk well on a lead and harness and enjoy walking. I do not pull unless someone or something scares me and then I want to run away.
I travel well in the car and jump in and out by myself.
I settle well and sleep through the night on my own with no fuss.
I am currently in a foster home in Nottingham.
I am vaccinated, microchipped and neutered.

Dory

I am a very small poodle from China and weigh approx 2.8 kg and I am 3 years old.
My foster family say I am a gorgeous ball of fluff who gives the best cuddles.
I love people and enjoy all the cuddles I can get. It is my favourite thing.
I am looking for a calm home, with someone who is around most of the time, as I love company. I can be anxious when left, so would need someone who would give me lots of time and patience.
I have met visiting children and am happy to sit on their knee, but I would be better suited to a home with no resident children.
I sleep in the front room with my foster sister as I am not keen on a crate or sleeping on the floor, I like to be higher up.
I can be a bit growly if I want my foster sister's toy or if I am having a cuddle and she comes for a cuddle too. I need to learn to share.
I especially like chewing bones, denture chews and am beginning to try and play with other toys.
I could live as an only dog in the right circumstances, or could live with one other small, calm doggie friend.
I also live with a foster cat, who I'm not really bothered about unless he is having a cuddle, then I just stand and stare at him!
I walk well on my harness/lead, but I've not really been used to walking far, so would need to build up my stamina, as I am quite slow at the moment and get tired really quickly. I do enjoy going for short walks and enjoy the new sights and smells
I am still practising my toilet training and I am getting better.
I am currently in a foster home in Nottingham
I am vaccinated/microchipped/neutered

Betsy

I am a medium size mixed breed from Romania and I am 3 years old
I am very shy when first meeting people but once I get to know and trust you I am very loving and loyal.
I have learned to play and am quite happy playing on my own with my toys.
I am looking for a calm home, with no children and with someone who is understanding and patient, and who will give me time to adjust and learn to trust and build my confidence.
I would also would benefit from a home where someone is around most of the time.
It will take me a while before I will be confident enough to walk on my harness and lead. I was living with my foster mum for about a month before I was able to do this, but I now enjoy my walks and I walk well on my slip lead.
I would be happy living as an only dog, or could live with another calm dog who will respect my space.
I can be a bit grumpy around food so would need to be fed separately from other dogs.
I am fully housetrained but can accidentally wee sometimes when I am nervous and scared.
I travel ok in the car and settle well at night on my own with no fuss
I am vaccinated, microchipped and neutered.
I am currently in a foster home in Nottingham.

Kitzi
I am a 6 year old medium/large mixed breed from Romania.
I arrived to the UK very scared and unsure and it took me a while to come out of my shell. However, over time I have blossomed and I am now enjoying my life in foster care.
I am a calm and quiet dog but due to my past I will need someone who will give me plenty of space and time to adjust and settle.
I have bonded well with my foster mum but I am shy when meeting new people and I will need time to build trust, and I can sometimes be fear reactive. Patience and space is key to allow me to to blossom as I can get unsettled with change.
I love nothing more than going for a daily walk then relaxing for the day and having cuddles.
I am good when walking and do not pull on my lead.
I travel well in the car and is am able to jump in/out the car by myself
I can be shy when meeting new people and dogs when out walking, and I like to have space to be able to greet them on my terms.
I would be best suited living with another calm and confident dog to show me the ropes and to help me to settle. I am not interested in playing with other dogs but I'm happy to live with one if they are similar in temperament.
I show no signs of resource guarding and I am currently in foster with another dog.
I am able to be left alone for short periods of time and show no signs of separation anxiety.
I sleep well at night downstairs on my own bed
I am fully house trained
I am not cat or child tested however due to me needing a calm and quiet home it is recommended that I am not homed with children. I can be cat tested on request.
I am microchipped, vaccinated and neutered
I am currently in a foster home in Nottingham

Grace

I am an older small/medium size mixed breed female from Romania.
I am nervous with people I don't know and prefer them to give me space until I get to know them.
Once I get to know you I am affectionate and trusting.
I am looking for a calm home with no children and with someone who has the time and patience to help build my trust and confidence.
I love having my back scratched and really like to be brushed.
I sit with my foster mum in the evening and I nudge her when I want her to stroke me. When I am tired I take myself off to bed in the kitchen to go to sleep.
I settle well at night and choose to sleep downstairs on my own.
I ignore other dogs but I am nervous of people and look to my foster mum for confidence.
I travel very well in the car.
I really enjoy my food and I particularly like salami.
I walk well on my lead and harness and I absolutely love going for short walks.
I could live with another calm dog but would be just as happy to live as an only dog as long as I am socialised regularly and someone is around most of the time.
I have met cats and have ignored them so with careful introduction I could live with them.
I am in a foster home in Nottingham.
I am microchipped, vaccinated and spayed.

Hope
Hope is a Bedlington Terrier and she is approx 4 years old
This lovely lady was a meat trade survivor and ended up in a shelter with over 3000 dogs, she had hardly any fur and bad skin disease, she was very underweight.
She’s now doing well in boarding kennels and likes to be around people but can be shy at first, she seems to like to be with other dogs.
She’s not been cat tested so anyone who wants to adopt her with cats needs to be cautious and have areas to separate if needed.
She deserves a lovely home
Hope should be travelling on the 29th of September and will go into foster care for a small assessment.

Flynn

Flynn is a Miniature Schnauzer and is approx 3 years of age.
He was rescued from the shelter where he came from the dog slaughter house, he was very shy and had some skin conditions under his fur. He is now doing amazing and gets on well with people, but always need to be cautious when introducing new family members.
He has also been around cats

He has a cheeky character, loves to play and run around with other dogs, and he will be looking for a home with another resident dog.

Wendy

Wendy is a beautiful Labrador is approx 4 years old.
When she was first rescued from the shelter of 3000 dogs in China, she was very fragile, skinny and had just given up hope. If she wasn’t saved that day I think she would have died within weeks if she was left.
She was very friendly, even though she had been let down by humans.
She has been at our vets for nearly a year now and is
doing amazingly well. She had arthritis issues and had to have MRI scan and on her brain and spine, but no issues were found. her health now is where it should be and her weight is good, and she’s not been wobbly on her legs at all.
She is good with people, dogs and has been around cats, and is very laid back and loyal
She would be happy to live with another dog, or could live as an only dog only in certain circumstances and providing she wasn't left on her own for long periods of time.

Blue

Blue is a Collie Merle breed and he is approx 2-3 years of age.
He was saved from the shelter of 3000 dogs, he was skinny, and his skin was so sore and bleeding but even with all that he was still very friendly, we just wanted to get him to bath to ease his skin as he was very sore.
Blue entered our vets very underweight, and had a small sarcoma on his jaw. After months of treatment blue has recovered massively and loves his life now!
He has been waiting since February to travel to the UK, as travel has been restricted due to the Pandemic.
He is looking for a home with someone who can give him time and patience.
He would also benefit from an active home even though he does love to snuggle, and he would also need to live with another resident dog.

Diamond

I am a female Cocker Spaniel cross Jack Russell and I am 6 years old.
I am still finding my paws having arrived in foster care on 27 Sept.

Doris

This beautiful girl was rescued from the meat truck, we have pictures of her being slung around like a doll.
We got her safe and sent her to our vets where we noticed she was pregnant, unfortunately a few days after birth, she lost her baby.

She loves attention from people but can be jealous of other dogs.
Even so, we think she’s best in a home with another calm dog. This is to prevent the possibility that if she were an only dog, she may guard her owner and some other behavioural issues may arise.

We have no further information at this time as to when Doris will be able to travel to the UK
